OpenAI announced on January 16 plans to test advertisements in ChatGPT, starting in the coming weeks, for free and Go tier users in the United States.
The $8/month Go subscription launches nationwide with expanded features including messaging, image creation, and file uploads.
Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscriptions will remain ad-free, maintaining OpenAI's commitment to offering paid alternatives without advertising.
Ads will appear at the bottom of responses when relevant sponsored products match the conversation topic.

OpenAI states that advertisements will not influence ChatGPT's answers, and user conversations will remain private from advertisers. Users under 18 and sensitive topics, including health and politics, will be excluded from ad placement.
