On July 21, 2025, Google introduced a refreshed new logo for its Search Console platform, signaling a renewed commitment to modernizing its suite of tools designed for webmasters and SEO professionals.
The new design features a vibrant color palette and incorporates key elements such as a magnifying glass and a bar chart, aligning closely with Google’s broader branding updates.
Here is how the logo looks now:

The magnifying glass symbolizes the platform’s focus on helping users identify issues and opportunities on their sites, while the bar chart reflects growth and performance monitoring.
Google announced the update on LinkedIn, sharing:
“Search Console has a new icon! 😍 The toolbox icon served us for a long time, but it's time for a new design. We thought about what would communicate our mission to help publishers and creators grow on Google and, of course, a bar chart had to be included. Then, the magnifying glass, which is about helping you identify issues and opportunities on your site. And we also aligned with the Google brand: it's fun and colorful!”
A First Logo Update Since Launch
This marks the first major logo redesign since the launch of Google Search Console (originally known as Google Webmaster Tools in 2006).

The previous icon, a toolbox, had become synonymous with the platform, representing its technical utility.
The new logo signals a shift towards a more user-friendly, accessible, and visually engaging toolset, coinciding with Google's ongoing efforts to simplify the SEO experience.
How SEO Specialists and Agencies Are Reacting?
The new logo has sparked mostly positive reactions across the SEO community.
While some longtime users expressed nostalgia for the classic toolbox icon, many see the redesign as a welcome evolution.
At Omnius, as a SaaS & Fintech SEO agency, we see this branding as reflecting Google’s shift toward a more data-driven, user-centric approach to site performance monitoring.
It feels like Google is saying, “We care about what you are doing”.
If we’re lucky, this shiny new logo is just the start, and maybe “Google AI mode traffic” insights are next on the roadmap.
That’d be great!
